We are starting a new trend at CFG...Birthday Burpees. Let us know when it is your birthday and as a group we will perform however many burpees your age is. This weekend was Kari's birthday. After the WOD, we performed ?? burpees (I don't think she wants everyone to know her age).
Workout of the Day
6 rounds:
5 Deadlifts
5 Power Cleans
5 Push Presses
5 Thrusters
Coach Notes: Men use between 95-135 depending on level. Women use 45-65 depending on level. You may increase the weight if you feel comfortable.

I think I'm not coming on my birthday :-)

Barry, very kind of you not to disclose my age... although everyone that was there on Saturday knows exactly how old I am and wishes I was at least 20 years younger...

I started birthday burpees at CrossFit Southwest earlier this year (just the birthday person does them, not everybody), trying to convince the others that it's an actual CrossFit tradition. Even though they didn't believe me -- I had in fact made it up to get my brother to do 29 burpees -- now some people have gotten on board and have started doing them too. And look, a quick Google search shows that other gyms do them so maybe it is actually a CrossFit tradition after all! I better start preparing for my 28 in November...
